Jammu, Oct 4: A year since five workers of a political party who attempted to rape a woman in Rajouri district, the accused continue to move around freely while the victim and her family are being victimized by the authorities.
In October last year, Nancy (name changed), of Lamberi village of Nowshehra tehsil, had visited an adjoining area for some work, where she was abducted by five vehicle-borne men who attempted to rape her.
But luck favored the middle aged woman, who managed to flee from "clutches of the beasts" and rushed straight to police station Rajouri.
As per her husband, she complained before the police that the activists of a political party attempted to rape her. Though the police subsequently filed a case vide FIR number 524/2015 of 2015, to the shock of the victim and her family the police registered a case of eve-teasing, a not so serious offence.

Jammu, Oct 4: The increasing incidents of theft cases in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu has exposed a well knit mafia which is working in connivance with some corrupt officials, causing huge loss to the state exchequer. Jammu, Oct 4: The Personal Assistant of MLA Billawar, has allegedly been using government machinery to woo voters from panchayats represented by opposition parties, by chairing a public grievance redressal meeting in rival's Panchayat, in which all officials of government departments were present.

SRINAGAR, Oct 4: Police today launched a crackdown on the separatist leaders and arrested Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) Syedah Aasiyeh Andrabi along with her five associates from the different areas of Kashmir valley.
Reports said that police carried out a raid in the Kralkhud locality near Habba Kadal and arrested Aasiyeh from a house. Her close associate namely Fehmeeda Sofi was also put into custody by the police on this occasion. Jammu, Oct 4 : National Conference has openly come out against granting of union territory status to the Ladakh region. The party, which has its shrinking base limited to the Kashmir region, is being accused by the people of the Ladakh region for the continuous neglect and backwardness.
